Attune to the Moon: Finding My Own Rhythm
Finding My Creative Voice ~ Again
I often do things on my own -- more often than not, truthfully. So I'm not surprised that I'm doing my class by myself.
So for the next 3 months, I'm attuning to the Moon cycle once again -- in ways I haven't done in years. It seemed easier when I was still menstruating, keeping time, keeping track! I've been attuned for so long I'm not paying attention!
So I'm approaching this mini-class as a Crone. It's time to play!
My New Moon mediation found me planting seeds for the next year, as a foundation for the future. I want to live my new story in a deeper, more connected way.
One seed I planted was to make sure I 'walked with' my Goddess, the Woman clothed with the Sun. I heard that phrase, 'to walk with' in an essay on Christianity and Buddhism. It seems like a good way to describe living in the presence of Spirit, or living within the creative imagination.
My goal is to remember to invoke my imaginal new story everyday, in every way. Live it, Be it, Own it.
So much depends on if I can come to believe my imagination and follow its lead. Like I've done in the past. Now, I have to live in Beginner Mind once more.
So today, since it was hitting 60*, I went to Narragansett Beach to meditate on my Goddess. And to give thanks for the beautiful day.
Along the way, I had a revelation about Aphrodite, the Great Goddess of Love and Soul-Making. And about relationships.
Aphrodite is described as arising from the sea-foam, as the waves roll to shore. And I realized that love and relationships need something or someone to break on. To create that sea-foam of love and beauty.
It's not enough to get conscious. You have to take yourself out and love other people and the Earth for it to deepen and grow. Something known but not realized in quite this way.
With today's Taurus Moon, having something 'real' like watching the waves break onshore can evoke revelations of meaning -- if you're open to it.
So here are the photographs I took that brought me to my revelation.
And then, I noticed how very blue the Sky was today. I was be-glamoured by the colors, and the wind.
Unfortunately, my video of the changing blue sky won't upload properly. Oh well, enough for now.
